We live in Canton, Ga but need to move closer to the city. We want to buy a home but only can afford $150-$160k. We still want to live in an area where our children can get a good education. I have a 4 year old and 12 month old. I was wondering about College Park, Ga with the zip code 30349 or Kennesaw. Also thought about Marietta but don’t know the good parts of that area. I know they are far and in between but I really don’t know where to look. Can any one give some advice please?

If you're concerned about education and safety, I'd pick Kennesaw or even Marietta before I went anywhere near College Park. Kennesaw's not really going to get you much closer to downtown, though, and the few miles you save on the interstate can quickly be eaten up just getting to the interstate if you get very away from an exit. You'll get slightly closer with Marietta, but again, you've got to watch how far you go off the interstate, plus you're going to pay a premium the closer you get to intown.

I would pick the Grayson/Loganville area. You can find a nice home in your price range..
