Hi again!
I'm considering a move to Whittier Mill Village, a place I just found out about a week or so ago. Can anyone fill me in about it? Is everything around it to the north and east very "mall-y" or "chain-y"? Anything fun and independent (health food stores, restaurants, boutiques?) around the area? Is it a hellish commute to Midtown? Thanks in advance to all the info- H |

They did a story on Whittier Mill a while ago...you should Google it and see if it comes up under news. Supposed to be an amazing community with a real sense of pride. Don't think the traffic to midtown would be bad. Kind of an oasis in the middle of a not so great area.

I have friends (lesbian couple) that live there and love it..."oasis" is a good word for it...'mill village' is exactly what it was, providing houses for the workers (like Cabbagetown). It's a very diverse and close knit community, well-located (and with better access to midtown than you would have in a similar location on the more densely populated NE side).
Like I said, the best part about WMV is the strong sense of community there. |

Thanks so much! I'm pretty excited about the place. Was a little confused because the surrounding areas are a little dubious and I wanted it to be an oasis not a Peyton Place. But my fears are alayed. Thanks a lot!
