Hi, I know this post is way old. But i'm in NJ now and relocating to ATL for work. I have been looking at areas in the burbs as I do not really like city living. Been 20 minutes from NYC my entire life been there about 5 times! Anyway, I have been looking at homes in the Buford area and this thread peaked my interest, but it is now 3 years old.

Can anyone give me a little update as to the status of the schools? i have 3 kids, 2 headed to first grade and 1 headed to sixth. Also, is the town nice and quaint, can the family go for walks, are there cafes to have coffee and sit outside at tables? I have about a month and a half to find a house in a good town with good schools!!

any help is so appreciated!!

I am originally from the Boston area, live in Suwanee, and given what you are looking for I am not so sure Buford will fill the bill for you. Think you might be happier in Suwanee or John's Creek. Suwanee has a very nice town center where you can sit outside and have a meal, beverage or a cup of coffee in the morning. Also all kinds of family oriented events there throughout the spring summer and fall months. In addition the North Gwinnett Cluster has very good schools. John's Creek is good too with excellent schools but does not have a town center like Suwanee. To me it's a bit bland but you certainly can't go wrong moving there.
