If you're single, in your late 20's and want to live in a city, I suggest NY, Chicago, SF, or Seattle. Atlanta is more like a bunch of suburbs crammed together with awful public transit.

But I agree with LovinDecatur's post - Decatur would be my first pick (Marta station in the center of town) with lots of eating, shopping, drinks, and singles.

Stay away from brand new construction.. I was going to recommend a new GAbles apt. on Monroe DR. in midtown but I know the area well and what they are asking is out of line with the market.

THey think people will pay for new for the hell of it....

I would recommend a lot of neighborhoods in Atlanta to a single twentysomething before I would Decatur. Decatur is more oriented to young families.

Midtown
Virginia-Highland
Inman Park
East Atlanta
Buckhead
