Forest Park has the state farmer's market. Great produce for cheap, often grown locally.

Country charm in the city center, Northlake Mall from back in the day gives me fond memories of waking up early with my girlfriends for a Beanie Baby debut and shopping at the Sanrio Store.

West End?

Very attractive, walkable Downtown with charming shops, restaurants and pubs. Beautiful new-urbanist neighborhood directly across the railroad tracks.

Default Buford, there all the time

Always a nice, slower pace to live through...there and Flowery Branch....Up there all the time....the lake draws me....less pretentions up there me thinks.....much like the rest of Georgia, the women are pretty, the pace is easy, the climate is fine.....all in all, a satisfied tax paying customer....

Did I mention, the women are pretty in Georgia??? If you know of any more that are unhappy elsewhere, do your part, help keep America beautiful or at least, the parts I care about, send them here.

They will be treated with a smile and more men chasing them than a woman has a right to.....have to love the South....where chasing women is an art form.....

A bit better than in town...too many "credit card eating bimbos".....

Treat yourself right guys, open you eyes and take in all of Georgia's beauty...the two-legged female types...

For Douglas County...

Unbelievable view of downtown Atlanta when you drive east, situated at a high elevation, non-pretentious tranquility, Sweetwater State Park...

Piedmont park, there is always something to do there, from festivals to just chilling with friends.

OK, I have to backtrack. I know Atlanta is over 1,000 feet above sea level (which makes the summer humidity a BIT more bearable than at sea level), I did not know DOUGLAS is even higher, that would make the summers even more comfortable.
Any idea what the elevation is there?
Were you referring to all of Douglas, or just the Park?
I know people from Florida are retiring to parts of TN and NC that are 1,800 ft and higher for the summer comfort.
