We are Jewish and considering moving to either Fayette or Coweta counties. We understand there is lots of present and future growth and development in those two counties.

My impression is that there are Jews living there, but there hasent been much of a community built up yet. I was wondering if I am right, or is there not many Jews there yet?

Thanks everyone.

I was able to find one synagogue on the south side. Only one, so that might give you an idea of the size of Jewish population. The southside is growing but most jews move to the northside of the city.

Do you have children yet and how important is a strong Jewish presence in their life to you (outside of the home)?

There is no Jewish Community Center south of town and there are absolutely no plans to build one down there anytime soon. (The JCC has fiscal problems lately and can't keep up with the demands from other more booming communities.)

There are several congregations in-town where families from the southside also belong.
Here is a list of congregations in the Metro area -- almost all of them are north of Buckhead (really north of Downtown)

Default Speak up!

If you are Jewish and you live in Peachtree City or on the South Side, please speak up. I am trying to get a feel for what the stats are.

I believe there are more Jewish pepole there than we think.

TY.

I live in Summergrove ( Newnan)and I have several neighbors that I know are Jewish. Don't know how active they are however. My son in law is Jewish and so I researched closest congregations and I did find one in Peachtree City I believe and LaGrange.
