Is there any way to get from 1-85S to 1-75N without going on 285? Driving thru Atlanta scares me to death. Yall just drive way to fast for me. I have to go from Greenville SC to Nashville, Tn to visit my Mother and my usual Knoxville route is closed.

Check out mapquest.com...you might find a shorter route there, but I don't know of one.

What about going up to NC 64 and taking it all the way west to Cleveland Tn then dropping down briefly to Chattanooga on 75 south then getting on 24 north to Nashville? 64 is a nice highway with some beautiful scenic views and you shouldn't have any traffic to deal with .Look it up on google maps. I think hwy 178 North(?) out of Pickens SC should take you up to it according to google maps.
