We are looking to move in about 2-3 weeks and were wondering if a house we found in Doraville would be a good choice. We're two women and want a safe place for us.

Thanks in advance,

Annie

Doraville is full of illegal immigrants and has lots of gang activity. I would not recommend living there.

Lawrenceville has just as much gang activity and illegals. I think you may be pleased with nicer parts of Doraville given that you do not have any kids.

Are you already committed to the house? If not, I highly recommend checking out the areas of Decatur, Virginia Highlands, Midtown and Inman Park. You'll find the most gay friendly communities here.

There is some new developments in Chamblee, just south of Doraville. It is next to MARTA Chamblee station. May want to take looking at that area since I see many young professionals over that area.

I ditto the Decatur area recomendation above. Decatur is long known as being an area where lots of lesbian couples seem to settle down. Plus you also have a MARTA station downtown there as well.

No I live in Doraville and it is not safe. Pleasentdale Rd. has some of the worst crime in Dekalb County. You should try living in Gwinnett County much better and safer.

You need to check the last posting date in the thread before responding...this thread is more than 3 years old, so I doubt the OP is still searching for an answer.
