Hi Everyone,

I have the options of downtown atl or Warner Robins, but I saw that WR was too far from Atl. I have a brother that lives in the Buckhead(atl) area and he told me that we would like the Duluth area. I wanted to get more suggestions from others. He also stated Marietta, Norcross, and Dunwoody. Thanks again for the suggestions! I really appreciate this. We are trying to narrow our selections.

We would prefer Suburbs and nothing more than $400-500K range. We would also like to rent first before we buy. So, any suggestions would be great.

Complete nonsense. Just look at the demographics for Mason elementary in Duluth which also includes the Sugarloaf Country Club area.

Yes, please do ignore that earlier ridiculous post regarding Duluth. Sounds like 1980 perhaps, but certainly not now. This could possibly be one of our MOST diverse suburban areas.

In any case, with your budget you'll have lots to choose from. Out of the places mentioned so far, I would look at Dunwoody. Wonderful suburban area, very close-in to town. Virtually everything you could want or need would be close by, in a safe and very comfortable environment. Also take a hard look at the City of Decatur.

As far as schools go for your little one, someone else can chime in on that.

Wherever you guys end up, good luck!

Thanks again! WE really do not know the area well besides Buckhead or visiting vegetarian restaurants in Chamblee and East Point. We are really excited about moving. This blizzard really got us!

A co-worker told me about Decatur. Can someone tell me the best zip codes or locations to target around the Decatur area?

I would recommend Atlanta (Cascade area), Duluth, Sandy Springs or Dunwoody.

Cascade area consist of upper-middle class African Americans. Duluth is well mixed with all nationalities. Sandy Springs and Dunwoody are well mixed as well.

Some great Schools to teach for in the Atlanta area: North Atlanta High (North Atlanta High School - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia), North Springs High (http://www.northspringshigh.com/), Druid Hills High School (- Druid Hills High School) and Lakeside High (Lakeside High School Online).

I hope this information helps.
