Does anyone here have an opinion of the new development called "The Gates" of Johns Creek by Beazar Homes? I believe the intersection is McGinness Ferry and Technology Circle. The community feeds into Shakerag/RiverTrail/Northview and Single Family Homes start at $269,900. When i visited the neighborhood from the midwest, I was suprised to see that 95% of the community were Indians? I am of Asian decent and have no problems with having Asian neighbors, but i am not too fond of high concentration of one ethnic group in an entire subdivision. Are Indians the largest Asian group in Johns Creek? Since there are a lot Koreans in the Duluth area, I just assumed that Johns Creek would be similar, but i was bit suprised to see such a high concentration of Indian decent in the newer Johns Creek subdivisions.

I realize this thread is old, but wanted to comment based on our home shopping experience.

While your budget is about $100K too low for the neighborhood, I think that Chartwell Subdivision was one of the nicest/well-kept/"solid feel" neighborhoods we drove through at least once a month for 3+ years. There were no "trash" homes - even the REOs and handful of foreclosures we looked at were nice.

We ended up not buying in there (despite offers on three homes there) - but live about a mile to two away nearby on our own lot. We use the adjacent park frequently and most of the parents there are courteous and respectful of others while their kids are playing.

Yes, there were more expensive neighborhoods with larger homes, or golf courses, etc. but this place always felt consistently above average. GA400 is a straight shot down Haynes Bridge and Holcomb Bridge is not that far either. Convenient to Northpoint, Parks, Shopping (we love the Bruster's in the Kroger shopping center) and the area is got a very stable, family-oriented feel.

Hope this helps.

Agree wholeheartedly--great subdivision and a number of homes in there are a very good price at this time.

You're obviously not talking about parents from Chartwell. If you only knew...
