The week after the Masters would be a good time slot

The week after the Masters, the course is far from tournament condition... I'm sure the ladies wouldn't mind playing anyway, but the membership and most golf fans would. It's trampled by the time Masters Sunday is over...

A women's tournament would be neat... but it's an unbelievable amount of work to get the course ready for a tournament, the course closes and constricts the available calendar time for a women's tournament and it simply isn't going to be nearly as big as the Masters. "Is it worth it?", is honestly a good question coming from someone that worked on the course staff and loved every minute of it.

I'm not against it, it would be good for the area and doesn't necessarily make the membership look like they bent over and grabbed their ankles either. However... Augusta National shouldn't do anything because of outside pressure, articles, etc... they should only do something if they choose it so and it makes sense for them.

Can they build a golf course for the ladies golfers in Augusta similar to the Masters and allow them to have their own membership or club. I think Augusta need another major event dealing with women, for one they spend the more money

There will never be another golf course ANYWHERE close to the level/prestige of the Augusta National... look at the money spent at Sage Valley and it's a heckuva golf course, but nowhere near the National. There was a truck load of money spent on that course and it doesn't have a "major" tournament (LPGA/PGA/Nationwide/Senior).

Not really understanding your second point about them spending more money... any female sport is less profitable or money generating than their male counterpart. It's just the way it is.

You want another major sporting event in Augusta... get a billionaire to build a race track rivaling any NASCAR venue or splurge on a 20,000 seat arena and get Augustans to actually support something other than the Augusta GreenJackets. Wanna bet on the odds of this happening???
