Fortunately I get to use the previous owners senior discount for the rest of the year but next year it will be over 10% of my gross going to the City of Cedar Park.

What say you?

Fiancee and I combined salaries, it comes in @ < 5%.

Still a lot better than being in California where she was before, with income taxes and property taxes.

Far less than the percentage that went to income tax when I lived in Oregon.
But I think the combined sales tax and property tax comes out to about the same amount of tax as I paid in Oregon.
Assuming my property tax is the same as was paid last year, and my income does not get cut, it comes out to ~4%.

About 3%, give or take. It is probably pretty closely tied to the percent of income you spend on your house, depending on your interest rate and loan period. Dual income, one modest house, and you are sitting pretty .

Oh, and if you itemize, the property tax is deductible, so you do get a little back.
