What neighborhoods or areas have few or no children in Austin? My boyfriend and I have no children (nor do we want any). We've looked at some apartments/condos downtown but didn't know if there are other areas we should look.

West Campus - unless you consider 18 year-olds to be children.

others I can think of:

Far West blvd.
South Congress
South Lamar
78702

Better yet, here is a map. There is no underlay, so you'll have to cross-reference the names of neighborhoods.

Children in Austin, TX

Interesting map, but doesn't seem to go to the city limits...

Assume that far north, far south, and far sw Austin are filled with children (they are).

You'll find less kids in the expensive downtown condos or ones close to downtown like the Nakonah on Lamar

Oh, not debating that, but was curious what the percentages were/are. Would be interesting to see.

I would try to soften your attitude at bit, there are kids everywhere in Austin, yes on S. Congress, yes downtown, yes in East Austin. Yes, at ACL, yes at SXSW, yes at many restaurants.

Nothing like the numbers or density you would see in Cedar Park or Circle C but they are certainly there. I have three kids and have always lived (worked and played) very centrally.

Even though there are areas like downtown where a lot of kids don't LIVE per se, there will always be kids downtown, because the suburban breeders (like me) will bring them along for things like book festivals, concerts, art walks, parades, events and such. The city is very kid friendly.

IF you are looking for 'kid-free' housing, I think that was determined to be illegal; for that matter, even segregating complexes into kid/non-kid was off-limits. Personally, and maybe because I have kids, I can see the attraction .
