Getting slammed in Drip. I've gotten at least 3" since yesterday. My well water thanks the rain master.

My totals -

Bucket - 2.25" (left out in the middle of the yard when the storm hit)

Gauge - 1.75" (hanging off the back fence)

I'll be going by the bucket from now on!

Hopefully we'll all be getting more tomorrow! Depending on which weather report you are following on the news - some are saying the rain will end by Thursday - while others are saying rain chances up until Monday of next week...

The rain we had earlier today cooled things off very nice this evening. We have thoroughly enjoyed our 2nd time down here this year. It has been nicer this week than when we came down in mid June...

Can't wait till the end of the month when we make this our permanent home. Rain or no rain...lol

That's about as much as I got in total too - in Round Rock. My backyard is all "swampy" and moist this morning - love it!

Heavy rain is pretty rare in these parts. I have gotten more than 2 inches at my house, but im not hopefully for much more this summer. I would suspect many many weeks of heat without any rain. It's the desert folks!!

Holy Cow! I managed to mow the St. A in the front yesterday between rain events. It's only been four days and that grass is seriously LUSH!!! I try to cut only 1/3 off each mowing(every four or five days), but I was cutting INCHES off in some areas yesterday. I didn't trim the edges on Monday and some stretches are at least 6" tall!(3" is the target)...So, THIS is what the grass will do in mid-summer with some rain!??! Haven't really had a stretch like this since we moved here...rain in spring to get the grass started and enough rain to keep the grass green and healthy during July and THEN enough rain to make it go CRAZY .

Of course, not being 100 degrees EVERY day has made a big difference!

No complaints here; BUT our visitors from Mississippi were expecting some of that DRY Texas heat to contrast the soupy steamroom they left back home!

For the record, we're between 2.25 and 2.5" for the week in total.

Our St. A under the trees is doing well (too well). We are currently in the process of shading (via trees) the whole yard, and removing some areas of grass and replacing them with other plants/cover. As for the growth, yeah, with mid 90s and lots of water, St. A is a bit like kudzu.
