Hey ya'll, I just accepted a job in SW Austin in the East Oak Hill area and was out all day looking at rentals for my family. IMT Monterey Ranch seems like the most bang for my buck and is really close to my work but in trying to find some reviews online it seems like a very mixed bag of opinions. I was hoping to get some feedback from anyone who has lived here recently (last year or two) or at least knows of some folks who live or have lived here? Also if you would recommend another complex over IMT MR that is in this area for a similar price (1100-1200) for a 2 bedroom would be greatly apreciated. Thanks in advance for anyone who can help : )

I lived there a long time ago, back when it was Archstone Monterey Ranch, and under different ownership/management. We didn't really have any major problems while we were there (about 2 years), but I have no idea if or how it's changed with the new ownership. It's a hell of a lot more expensive now than when we lived there, I can tell you that much.

You have to remember, online reviews are skewed heavily towards those that hated the apartment, were pissed off about something, or just plain unhappy. For every negative review, there's probably 7 or 8 people that didn't care enough one way or the other to take the time to post anything to the internet.

That said, all apartments are going to suck on some level. Super close to work? take it. You'll enjoy the extra time with family, and worst case scenario, you move.

Thanks for the replies, we have decided to go ahead with signing a lease with IMT this week after speaking to some people that currently live there and think it will be a good fit. EzPeterson your point of it being so close to my work makes real sense after doing my commute the last week to work from where I am currently staying in North Loop down to East Oak Hill. Thanks again for the advice and if anyone else has any other input it will also be appreciated! Loving Austin life so far!!
