Big Bend National Park is larger than Rhode Island.

Not quite but close according to Google Maps. Perhaps the West side of El Paso is halfway.

Houston to El Paso 745 mi, 10 hours 30 mins

El Paso to LA 802 mi, 11 hours 28 mins

I love Texas county factoids!

55 Texas counties contain a city with the exact same name (for example, Lampasas is in Lampasas County).

43 Texas counties are not host to the Texas city with the exact same name (for example, Austin is in Travis County, not Austin County).

There are a handful of others if you count beyond exact name matches (for example, Port Aransas in Nueces County, not Aransas County; or Fayetteville in Fayette County).

The farthest separated is Hemphill, TX, in Sabine County, over 480 miles from Hemphill County.

Every state has a Greenville - all spelled the same way.

Except one - which?
