ACL and COA just doged a HUGE bullet. If this had happened during the day on Saturday or Sunday conditions would have just gone to hell and an orderly cancellation not possible. It would have been an enormous mud pit. Fortunately, almost all the rain dropped overnite and the organizers had the perfect opportunity to do rational and right thing and cancel today's even before things spun out of control. Good luck and kudos to the for doing the right thing,

But bummed I'm losing out on day3...

It looks like the most rain hit South Austin. Barton Creek @ 360 is showing over 12" of rain in the past 12 hours. Onion Creek is 7 ft over flood stage. If rain like that had fallen just upstream from Lake Travis, then wow. Unfortunately both downstream from the lake:

Still, a healthy dose of rain in the hill country is filling the lake slowly, and plenty more chances over the next few days.

Amazing rainfall totals at Barton Creek and 360, atxcio. Must be many homes flooded in South Austin. I haven't seen the local news reporting flooding or pictures, surprisingly.

Yeah, most of it was too far south and/or east, but it looks like a lot of rain is falling northwest of Buchanan, so there will be quite a bit of new water in the system.

And the terrible drought continues - we only got 3.3" here in Brushy Creek on the west side of Round Rock.

The Pedernales River watershed got some heavy rains, 6" in one place, but rains were mostly light further west in the rest of Lake Travis watershed.

Wow this unfortunate couple had flood water from Williamson Creek, almost 2' deep in their house on Radam Circle, near Emerald Forest Drive and Stassney Lane.

There is a movie showing the watermarks inside their house.

They had moved into the house in July and had just finished remodeling.
