I have a house on a corner lot in Brentwood, and I'm looking for someone to build a separate garage w/ upstairs living. My son will to be living upstairs while attending UT austin in the fall, and once he graduates, my other son can do the same. After calculating all impermeable requirements, my lot allows a 650 sqft garage & 550 sqft apt upstairs. We have ample back yard space to lay down a 24x22 slab, and meets all setback requirements for corner lot. 4 walls and an outside staircase leading up to the top floor is all I need. Plumbing and electricity to be tied in to our home.

I wanted to see if anyone knows of a local builder/general contractor who has experience w/ building garage w/ upstairs apartments, and can do this turn key, similar to Harvard Heights Construction in Houston?

Someone like Bill Moore or Bill Taute should be able to help.
Bill Taute Homes-Austin's premier new home builder and renovator

Don't think Bill Moore has a web site, he limits the number of projects he takes on. You can find them both via google and both have long experience in Austin building and remodeling homes, big and small.
