Can anyone help me understand the price difference in various utilities between Austin and So Cal?

Currently for a 3000 sq ft home w/ pool we pay per month:

Gas: $40
Electric: $130
Water: $120
Waste: $15
cable/internet: $135

Any input appreciated on other variables in cost of living between CA and Austin.

Thanks!

Waste will be higher. Probably not a lot.

Gas will be lower in the Summer, higher in the Winter, assuming gas heat.

Cable/Internet about the same, maybe a little lower due to the local competition in some neighborhoods.

Electric will depend on your provider, but in the Summer for a 3000 square foot house you could be looking at $150-$250 depending on usage.

In my neighborhood, we only have electricity--no gas. We have a 2400sf house and we keep the temperature in the summer at 76. Our bill is a bit over $100 each month.
In San Diego, we had a 1700 sf house, no A/C, and we did have a pool. I know we paid more monthly than we do here. Electricity seems pretty cheap here.

I also live in a neighborhood with no gas. We have a 1850 sq ft house and avg around $130/ mo for electric.
Water is $20/mo- we live outside official city of Austin (COA), so I think our water is much lower than people who live in COA.
Waste is probably about the same (I don't pay that bill).
Cable/ internet/ phone is $250/ mo. (Insane, I know. We have all the premium channels, etc. We are planning to get rid of cable when contract is up in two months and go with Roku, etc.) High-speed internet alone (ATT) will probably be around $75-100/mo.

Electric is about 12cents per kilowatt hour. Look at your California bill and find your usage and calculate how much electric cost if usage stays the same.

Can't help on natural gas or water, I haven't used Austin electric or Texas gas services in a while.

Maybe someone with their bill can calculate cost per gallon of water by dividing their total gallon usage by total bill or total gas meter usage divided by total bill... This will give you an approximate, knowing waste water is the main wild factor.

Trash: depends on size of cart Residential Rates & Fees | Austin Resource Recovery | AustinTexas.gov - The Official Website of the City of Austin

Cable/internet: depends on what package you want and choose, look up on att, roadrunner, grande, etc.
