The point was that you can't tell the actual difference when you cross the line between the cities. There's no "break" between them - heck, some subdivisions even overlap multiple ISD's.

And I'd wager a lunch that maybe 1 in 10 random people you stopped on the street in any of the cities that comprise "Austin" could name their mayor and 2 city council members. At least 1 of 10 wouldn't realize what city they were in if you were on the border.

It was snark. For me, Round Rock is past Hesters Crossing and Buda is south of 45 if that helps any.

Lol - yeah, everyone has different "lines" of what comprises "Austin" versus "Pflugerville" versus RR, CP, etc.

For me that whole section of Cedar Park that is East of Parmer, south of 1431 is just "Brushy Creek adjacent"

Southern boundary of Round Rock is SH45, not Hester’s Crossing. I was appalled when Austin annexed up to that point. Luckily the State Lege allowed Brushy Creek to vote ourselves out of Austin’s ETJ in the mid-1990s.

Someone was discussing opinions of where areas stop and start. I responded with "well there's a mayor and a city council..." and the other person responded with their opinion. Hesters Crossing was my opinion. Just like some people think anything north of 183 is "North Austin" and others think it's Round Rock, or people who think anything in "south Austin" is "south of the River" whereas others consider it more closer to Buda.

Well, as a side note.... when my brother bought his first house on Piedmont in Crestview in 1959, the working farm over his back fence was out in the country. So you can see how my perspective might differ from current opinions.

Yeah, I'm about a decade later than that, but I remember when 2222/Mopac was a ranch to market road and a railroad out in the boonies halfway to the lake.
