The apartments around 360/2222 are on the less expensive side side of the river (north) which is AISD, south of the Pennybacker bridge is Eanes ISD (Westlake) and is more pricey. Both sides are scenic.

That's a bit overstated. We don't have mountains in central Texas, but Texas definitely has mountains.

True. About eight hours away.

Years ago, I lived in Bridgehead Apartments on Shepherd Mountain Cove, off W. Courtyard Dr. (btwn 350 & 2222 in Northwest Hills near Lake Austin). They're up on the top of a hill in a very scenic area. I had a top floor apt with view of the hills and gorgeous greenscapes. I liked the location too. They were pretty affordable then, but who knows now. But it's an area worth checking out.

Finding the right apartment that ticks all your boxes is going to take time and lots of driving around. Just dive in and do it.

True; but you won't see them from an apartment in Austin

Actually, we do. West Texas has a lot of mountain ranges, most noteworthy Guadalupe Mountains National Park. Big Bend is quite mountainous, and there are also scattered mountain ranges elsewhere in west Texas, mostly south of I-10.

Ugh. Guys. My point was that the OP won’t get a “Mountain View” in Austin. I’m well aware of the geography of Texas. I don’t need ten snarky answers. She won’t see mountains that are nine hours away from anywhere in the Austin area. That’s not helping her in anyway.
