I wouldn't worry too much about it. Like someone said, you're far more likely to get killed on I-35. Living in Georgetown for several years, I always watched the weather if there was a tornado warning, it doesn't hurt to be prepared i.e. know where in the house is the safest place, but it's no different from any other severe weather.

In 1980-83 I lived in a development halfway between Round Rock and Cedar Park, and we were struck by two tornadoes in two years. The house wasn't harmed but we lost some fences and the roof off a barn. The street was laid along a ridge that must have just funneled the wind. After the roof was taken off the barn the second time my Dad redesigned it so it didn't act as a wind scoop and we didn't have the problem again. But I think that was an unusual occurence. :-)
