I like it. I always considered the "face" of a city is it's skyline.

Our skyline is getting way too much Botox.

I like that they are (mostly) sticking to downtown, and not sprawled everywhere like Dallas or Houston. Gives our skyline the appearance of a coastal city or something, where the area surrounding the CBD is unusable for whatever reason.

May not stay that way forever, with the Domain and West Campus starting to look like little satellite CBDs which pock mark all of DFW and Houston. But for now makes for a pretty iconic DT skyline.

Our house guests this Christmas, when looking over the view of Barton Creek greenbelt towards the SW from our house (which is a lot of empty green space not far from downtown) wondered why there were no houses built there; was it just not worth the trouble of building on those hills? I just sighed and said "yeah, that must be it."

It’s only a matter of time before W.Campus is just an extension of Downtown.

I agree with you on them being concentrated downtown. I do wish there was more diversity architecturally especially for the future super tall 98 Red River. I can only imagine what the skyline, density will be like. Of course very important is the impact all of these new buildings/residences will have on the city's housing prices.
