If anyone knows of a place that has this, I'm all ears. I went through some of the previous threads on pizza but I found nothing
Lots of pizza places use cornmeal so that the flour crust does not stick. Are you actually looking for a pizza with cornmeal in the crust?

Maybe list the places you have tried.

We honestly haven't found any Chinese food that was better than just a basic take out place in the Bay Area. I am told that Houston is the place for Asian food so we're hoping to get a good meal when we attend the Final Four in April.
most people that claim to want chinese food actually want american chinese food. The best places here cant compare to the best places in the bay area, but the asian food here is fine. Just because it is not to your taste doesnt mean it isnt a good representation of the food. A lot of food preference is just what you are used to. For example I despise chicago style pizza, but love st louis style pizza (thin, crispy, not chewy, cut into squares). Also not every dish from a restaurant is going to be great. the bay area has a huge concentration of chinese, where texas is mainly vietnamese that own the chinese restaurants.

If you are ordering general tso's chicken, sweet and sour pork, sesame chicken etc. Those are basically american dishes and dont really have a chinese frame of reference.

Din ho, asia cafe (in the past, not sure now), china family, house of three gorges, cocos (taiwanese) and jade all have some dishes that are great.

For japanese we like kome, tatsumi, kai sushi, uchiko, tomo, otoko, gyu kaku, and a few others that I cant think of.

For thai we typically go to titaya or saps. Sway is fancy.

We dont eat indian that much, but clay pit is solid and we like the star of india buffet even though it isnt the best food. Lots of people like saffron.

My wife happens to be Chinese so I'll assume she a pretty good judge.

I'll look into some of your suggestions. Thanks.

For those that have never had a cornmeal crust pizza, there is a certain texture and sweetness unlike traditional pizza crust.

It's not a game. And I thanked you for the suggestion. You threw out some assumptions and I clarified it.

I think corn meal crust pizza sounds good. I just wonder how thick the crust would have to be, because if it was too thin it would probably have a texture similar to a big crispy flat taco or tostada shell. But if it's too thick it might have a texture like a pancake or even a cornbread. But if you can get a good in-between thickness for the crust, I think you might have a pretty good pizza.

Let's see, can't recommend on the cornmeal thing, but I like Tony C's in RR, and there's this place run by a Sicilian guy called Sangiovanni's in Pflugerville. He does deep dish Sicilians (love those).

Reale's is my favorite NY style pizza. I like Yaghi's for takeout.

I recall eating at slapbox (i think that's what it's called) in DT RR. Liked it well enough.

FWIW I'm a New Yorker...my fondest memories were my mom giving me five dollars to get two slices and a drink at my local pizzeria. Back in the day when kids could walk to the local strip mall and it had its resident pizzeria owned by local Italians that had kitschy memorabilia on the walls

Thanks Riaelise,

Tony C's is very close and Sangiovanni's is not too far away so you've given me some places to try that are closer to home.
