Having just sold our home in Lake Havasu City AZ and the kids finally all moved out my wife and I are relocating to Austin ,hopefully Cedar. Park,Lakeway,Leander area,
With over 30 yrs experience in high end custom home building I was wonder what the work situation is like there and what opportunities there may be, and if I need to diversify and look into a different field in the construction industry.

Good luck.

Just a personal request. PLEASE stop building "front loader" homes. Won't buy one and won't buy a house on a block that has more than 20% front loaders. HATE to see good blocks ruined by new front loaders.

front loader = home where garage makes up the bulk of the curb appeal.

I tend to agree with you there on the front end heavy homes.
My intent in moving to Austin is not to be a Builder, but rather inquiring to the state of the construction industry there and the chances of obtaining a job in the related fields .
