What do you pay for your phone/internet/cable/cell?
I pay (rounded up)
$52.00 basic phone & DSL internet with Grande
$40.00 satellite with DirecTV - no movie channels
$54.00 cell phone with Verizon - 450 minutes
Obviously there are ranges of plans with companies, but to add that up, it's crazy I spend close to $150 a month on all that!

Our TW bill covers HD cable w/DVR, no premiunm channels but I do have the Movie Pak and extra HD channels, high speed internet and phone w/free long distance. Total package costs about $160/month. We use Tracfone for cell service.

This is very interesting since I have to set up utilities at my apartment in March.
I have cell with Verizon ($35 for 400 minutes + unlimited nights/weekends with employer discount).
I figure Vonage for landline (don't need it for long distance, just teleconferences on to an 800 #, so will go with the $17.99 plan IF I can get a consistent story re: calls to 800 numbers -- do they count against your minutes or not? One Vonage rep said free on either $17.99 or $24.99 plan, while another said 800 #s count against minutes on $17.99 plan but are free on $24.99 plan. Grrr.)
That leaves Internet and TV. For TV I'll go with an over-the-air signal if I can pick one up in my apartment. If not, I guess I'll get BASIC cable, which seems to be $20 at TWC.
For Internet, I've been happy with RRLite in NC allegedly at 1.5Mbps. I guess my options will be TWC, AT&T. Are there others (What is Grande? What is Uverse?).
Trying to keep expenses as low as possible, of course.

How is the t-mobile home phone. I am about ready to get rid of TW phone, we never use it! We have Alltel right now and when we got it, they were only in the 254 area code, so we are stuck with that until something better comes along with the Verizon merger.
We have Direct TV with 4 receivers, one HD DVR, one DVR and 2 regular for only $75 a month. No one can beat that for us. We usually get the UFC fights but they are about every 2 months.

(What is Grande? What is Uverse?).
Grande communications is a cable/broadband company. I've heard good things about them but they are only available in certain areas
Uverse is AT&T IPTV. They have to have special lines run into the neighborhood. But if it is in you neighborhood it is good service.
