I work for the state, and pay 340 a month for myself, my husband, and my son. We're on Blue Cross Blue Shield Health Select. Add another $40 for dental insurance for my husband and myself. I've been somewhat happy with the benefits. I used to have Humana through my husband's company and it was horrible, but I've also had United Healthcare from a different job and it was fantastic. This insurance, if I were to grade it, would get a B.

Like previously mentioned, since the legislature is already in session it's unlikely that any cuts or layoffs will pass this time around. Salary cuts are always a possibility but by the time they meet again in 2 years things will hopefully be better! I work at UT and we are currently in a hiring freeze (in my area at least). People that leave the university aren't being replaced either.

For once, the bureaucracy works to our advantage!
