Hello everyone,

I was curious. I know that you can't water your lawn now.

Are you able to clean your cars or go swimming? Do they monitor what you use within your home?

Thank you.

Dee

No water restictions yet. Residential customers can water maximum 2x a week. No restrictions on pools or bathing yet.

I only clean my wheels instead of washing the whole car. The car doesn't get dirty with no rain anyway

I am in San Antonio and we are in what is called Stage 2 drought restrictions. The different stages are determined by the level of our aquifer. SAWS Stage 2 lists the various restrictions that affect residents. Public swimming pools are still open, lawns can only be watered on your designated day during a small range of hours (cars can only be washed on that day/those hoursx as well, but you can go to a car wash facility anytime), no monitoring of water use within homes...

It's nice and green in Houston. No need to restrict water.

I am on a private water supply and we can only water yards by hand once per week from 7pm-10am. Car washing and filling swimming pools is prohibited.

Our sprinklers have been broken for about 3 months now and we can't get anyone out to fix them. I think the grass will be dead soon meaning we will get the new grass I've been wanting anyway...but I wonder when we lay new sod this fall, will we have to abide by the water restrictions because it will have to be watered every day?

CATX,it will depend on how bad it will be at that time. Sometimes you can get a permit to allow you to water a new lawn for a few weeks but depending on what stage you are in they may not allow you to water landscaping at all. Check with the water company that you are with.

CATX, give Wilson Irrigation (Phone: (512) 832-0066) a call they should be able to come out and look at your system. You can google them for the number. They have a website and are local. I have let some of my St. Augustin grass die off and I only water what I have to keep alive. I also have a pool and just hate having to top it off with water but I just can't let it go or else we would have a misquito problem.
