Its the 29th already and no gas bill still. Its due on about the 7th. Thats ridiculous. My electricity bill thats due at the same time came 2 weeks ago.

Also the gas company started charging for online payments. Who charges for a direct deposit from your bank account? Most companies prefer that so they dont have to pay people to open envelopes and deal with all the paperwork.

If it's Texas Gas Service, at least it appears that there is no late fee. The amount shown to pay "after the due date" is the same as the amount due before the due date. So I don't think they'd ding you if you paid late.

And, you can pay it at HEB for a $1 fee. Not as cheap as mailing it, but getting close (only 51 cents more).

I don't remember my bill ever coming particularly late, though.

Mine (from Texas Gas Service) usually comes 4th week of every month. Yes, it is due 7th of the following month. I pay it through by bank's website; incurs no charge.

Same here...pay through online banking and never a charge. The bill does arrive pretty late compared to others but it's usually only around $20.
