I'll be joining you in about six weeks myself. Good luck, and let me know if you or anyone else you know needs a roommate for five months.

Wow, I'm actually staying at this place for about six weeks so a bit of a coincidence. Maybe we can room together! What are you coming Downunder for?

I've always liked Melbourne, it's always felt like home every time I've visited, and I've lived in Perth almost my whole life. I hope to find a place in the city or the inner suburbs.

Anyone else here moved to Melbourne and what were your experiences? Anyone lived in the inner suburbs?
I used to live in Melbourne and I loved it. I used to live in Fitzroy for a few months. I did not like it as it was a boarding house. After I lived in Fitzroy I moved to the western suburbs as it was cheaper rent. Good luck with settling in Melbourne. I sure you would enjoy living there.

I'm doing an exchange semester, and all of the student housing done through the University of Melbourne is either out of my price range or full. Given the furnishing situation and somewhat temporary nature of my stay, I've been thinking a houseshare/flatshare is the way to go.

I think that would be the way to go. I'll be staying with a couple of uni students myself. If you wanna get in touch give me a buzz when you get in town.

As another suggested about time you vacated Perth. Actually was looking at the housing market in Melbourne today as is cheaper and would appear better value than Perth.
Fitzroy actually. I'd say you'll find it a little more to your liking than Perth. Good luck with the search for a share house. Perhaps not the very best of times to move there. Even Perth has felt cold in recent days.
Be interested to read your impressions of Melbourne.

Melbourne is a good place to live in. You can choose any of the region in Melbourne, but make sure your work place is not far away form were you stay as you have mention that you have an health issue.
