We have been there a couple of times and we know many people who go there regularly. I have never heard of such a thing happening. I would also say it was just bad luck.
we lived in hawaii for 29 years and never had a problem, as a matter of fact we had many local [ hawaiian ] and many other friends from different nationalities and were treated well. yes there are some trouble makers there and some are pretty extreme. our 3 kids went to school there when they were little and never had a problem. 2 of our grown children still live there with their famlies and are fine.
you speak of kill haole day, where do you get your facts ? from the sources you posted ? i know 1 of the main reasons that some locals do not like haoles is because some of the tourist have attitudes and get to pushy. i am not saying that i agree with them but i can understand how they feel at times. i have seen and been put in their position many times. we owned a business for many years and have dealt with a big variety from people from all over the and there is good and bad in all
of them. oh, by the way we are white.
