billsaintkilda, you crack me up, ha ha

Any place in the world is better than some other place and that can be the opinion of a lot of people.
So what is your point?

M1 would be nicer if one could get to/from the airport in Melbourne without paying about $15 toll for a round trip.

Live in Perth then! As we don't pay toll over here. (Though, It has been considered, For some major roads?)

Don't actually disagree with you about the tolls. Although there is a way around them that doesn't take much longer.

It'd be the height of insult, or even an abuse of human rights, to pay a toll to use those godforsaken strips of bitumen that they call the Reid & Tonkin Highway (highway? lol!).

Every time I have to pick someone up from the airport, I cringe at the thought at having to use those pathetic excuses for highways. You catch every light, while battling with half of the trucks in Perth, and half of the worst drivers in Perth, all on that one blessed path to hell.

Thats why they're called Highways, You have to be High to use them.

I'm in complete agreeance. Perth Roads are definately a joke and the roads out here, In Rural/Regional Western Australia! Are even worse!
Mainroads! Really needs to look at how they're building our road network . As alot of our Highways and Arterial roads, Are still badly designed and even dangerous?

Or get high on something after you get home. To get over the stress/anxiety attacks after driving on them.

Rural roads - most are just paved goat-tracks. So narrow, little or no shoulder, trees so close, passing lanes far too few and far between. Death-traps. No room for the slightest error, especially considering the high speeds allowed on them.

A lot of Perth's newer suburbs have pretty decent roads yet they can be stressful driving on them. Combination of oblivious airheads and aggro revheads.

Thats the other problem. WA/Perth drivers! Who can't drive for peanuts!. With a combination of bad roads and bad drivers, It's no wonder we often top the Road toll (Fatalities) figures?

Victorian drivers suck aswell. Many of them dont seem to know what the indicator is for, then you have grannys doing 20 below the limit in the right lane, certainly no shortage of idiots cutting infront of you..etc...etc....etc.

I took the tram to the aquatic centre from the city today, the westgate fwy project is coming along, new elevated ramp from the outbound side tothe Bolte bridge is mostly completed, they are now in the process of puttting up the new guard rails on the widened sections of bridge.

Got any of those renders of what is happening on the Monash between Warrigal and Stud Roads?
I drive the monash to work and between the Sth Gippy highway split and the Eastlink Interhcange work is getting underway. The section between Stud Road and Eastlink is fully sealed.
