Honda stepped away from the tuner crowd in the US so long ago no love is left. They would have to re-establish themselves at this point to make major sales.
Can't say I'm a fan of that particular car, but it does seem that the US gets a lot of the boring, bloated cars with few options compared to the overseas markets.
It's too bad cause there are a lot of cars (and trucks) available with manual transmissions, diesel engines, wagon/hatchback versions that we simply can't get here without paying a huge import tax.
I saw that version of the Civic in Spain last winter. Very nice looking "hatch."
But as many know the US market has not been very supportive of small hatchbacks. That is probably why Honda hasn't brought it here. I would bet the powertrain is about the same as our Si, which is still a nice one.

I could drive that one.
Well....
Honda's Fit, Insight, Crosstour, Clarity and CR-Zzz are all hatchbacks.
The Fit at least sells well, but the rest of Honda's cars sell mainly on reputation and brand loyalty rather than market competitiveness.
Yeah, with the exception of the Rio, Accent, Fit, Prius, Yaris, Festa, Focus, Sonic, Golf, Mazda3, Mazda2, Versa, C30, Mini, Impreza etc
Someday Honda will put its head out of its ass... maybe
Don't count on it. Honda wants to be Toyota, which wants to be GM. And it's an article of faith for them that "Americans don't buy hatchbacks." Faith, not reality.
And you forgot the Elantra, Forte, Beetle, and 500.
