With all the polished work it will look neat, fits within the confines of the stock hood, and will move that car fine for what it is. The engine made 441 hp on the dyno on 89 octane and 7 lbs of boost, so did i need a V8 for the Touring car? Not really! There is nothing wrong with a guy or gal wanting a car with a V6 in a mustang, camaro or challenger.
BS. 7 lbs of boost in a 3.8 Buick mill in a TR would not make anywhere near that. You have cams, head work and other things to make that kinda lower with such little boost.

my comment about V8s being belly button cars is because everyone and their brother builds V8 engines. but i can tell you that more small block fords and more small block chevy engines have been sold than ANY four or six cylinder engine.

That's largely because the small block Ford (1962-2001) and Chevy (1955-2003) engines were in production longer than any four- or six-cylinder platform.

ok then narrow it down, there have been more 302/5.0 ford engines, and more 350 chevy engines sold than ANY four cylinder or six cylinder engine.

Default Mustang

Go with the Mustang, more power, better handling, better mileage that the other two. Every year the Mustang improves. What is standard today, was an expensive option a few years ago. You will get many years out of the mustang.

That's really not very narrow. The 350 was built from 1967-2003, and the 302 Ford from 1968-2000.

Get the one you like the best. Performance wise, you will not likely notice or even ever experience the difference. They all have more power than you will ever use.

the Challenger has practical back seats and a useable trunk. The Camaro has a neat retro look, useless back seats and limited visibility.

The Mustang has useless back seats fewer visibility problems tiny bit better performance and might have fewer QC problems, but it is the least comfortable of the three IMO and has a worn out look.

I have always been a Camaro person, but I think I would choose the Challenger of the three. It is the best looking, most comfortable, the rear seats and trunk are practical and useful, and it comes in cool colors. Plus the engine is made a few miles from my house. That does not really mean anything, but it has appeal to me. I also like challenger because it is less common. Camaros are moderately common and mustangs are pretty much in every fifth driveway. Besides, our high school bully (who whooped my tail when I stole his girlfriend) drove a mustang, so I am prejudiced against them. (Actually if anything turned me sour on Mustangs it was the late 70s and early 80s garbage they produced and then took forever to get back to a decent car.)

If you are getting a 6 then performance is not the be all and end all of your consideration, so look to whatever is next most important to you (usually appearance or comfort).

I've had a Camaro back in the day. Fun car and it sounded good too. Make that engine talk Maybe you should consider a good used corvette too, if youre willing to dish 25-30 K for a fast car.
