No, it's not. This for the second time, this is the point you appear to be trying to make:

Totally different than actually doing "truck stuff" with a pickup and complaining about it.

Truck stuff? Like a spacious cabin, high seating position, safety, powerful engine, not having to worry about tomorrow's weather, 4 doors, 5 seater, room to toss your luggage in the back rather than squeezing them in the trunk or taking up a passenger seat. These are some of the "truck stuff" I have been doing with my truck.

I once was suffering from smug pollution when I drove my dad's prius to the mountains. Who pulled up nest to me at the trailhead but a big black SUV. But when 4 people piled out of the truck I realized they bere getting better mpg/person than me!

Anyway, I drive my truck for work. Comes in handy for construction/reconstruction. I can haul insulation in it if I want to feel ecological.

His detailed cost-benefit analysis,, devoid from emotions, feelings and other worldly stuff has led him to conclude that he won't be doing much "truck stuff".

And to be fair here philinak, you specifically were asking me how much my truck cost, maintenance cost, etc.... Assuming that the cost of ownership and maintenance on my truck were more than a Prius or <insert your car of choice here>. That has absolutely nothing to do with people and their expensive hobbies.
And you should tell him, that the bigger stronger engines, trannies, etc., the trucks often cost much less to keep on the road and last years longer.

The ONLY way he would make sense is if I gave up something in order to haul around that empty bed. I am not giving up anything. Even my mileage is on par with mid size SUVs. In a quad cab the bed is a bonus. I don't lose anything if it NEVER carries anything.
