We're are you going to store the roof , the trunk has the battery and that's we're the convertible roof is stored, unless they start making snap on and off roofs like the old broncos and ramcharger but if it starts to rain you are screwed, because the roof is at home.
There's still enough room in the trunk for the roof in a hybrid. Using the trunk for groceries while the roof is in there is probably not a reasonable option for a Hybrid with NIMH batteries. But with LIB batteries, that's not likely to be an issue.
I highly doubt there is a sizable population cross-shopping the two. Hybrid owners typically value mpg, carbon footprint, and looking eco-friendly over the actual driving experience that a convertible brings.
You must be a real tree hugger and you live in la land.
The torque on a motor at the low-end would save a significant amount of energy while climbing rocks. 30MPG? Probably not offroad. But it's obvious that it would yield better MPGs just like you get out of a hybrid vs a traditional vehicle.
Are you saying you don't want good gas mileage? My Volvo 2.5T wagon gets 15mpg city, so a hybrid is pretty appealing
With gas getting cheaper or not I rather have a bigger suv or a pickup with gas getting cheaper how long would it take for a hybrid to pay for itself. To each his own me I don't care about mileage I want a large truck with 4x4 I'm not the Eco friendly kind of person, I'm 60 years old and set in my ways always had good ole gasoline driven cars and trucks and always will. Growing up with muscle cars most of my life mileage was the farthest thing from my mind.

I'm with you on this.
I did not even look at or question the MPG before buying my current SUV. I wanted the power and performance, didn't care about mpg lol
