Thanks for all the suggestions. Basically I am trying to get a car with a luxury interior and the tech package for under 45,000 and it's hard. I tested the RX 350, Infiniti QX 50, and Benz C 300/GLC 300 and Audi over the weekend. The tech on the Infiniti was terrible. Would not play any of the songs on my flash drive. The RX was great but over budget with the tech package. Plus my brother has a 2010 RX that has holes in the dash, the grab handles in the rear have torn off, etc. Not impressed with the longevity of that interior, looks awful after 6 years. The XC 90 starts at 45,000 so that's out. Civic and Maxima interiors look and feel cheap. The car that comes closest to my wants is the C 300. I agree with motor trend when they say the interiors feel more expensive than the price, it's like getting a BMW 5 series or 7 series interior for 30,000 less.. I like that. I'm not a minivan or Camaro person, nor will I go near a Cadillac. My husband is on his second Escalade after the first one (a 2015) had endless problems and the dealer took it back. Now the new one (a 2016) has problems too. Dead battery after 6,000 miles, etc. Tech problems, etc. These are $100,000 cars!
Even though I also think the Benz screen looks crazy sticking out like that, it was the easiest to see. I see why they did it. All your info is right there in front of your face. It's starting to grow on me.

Flash drive?! What a weird requirement.
I mean really, it's 2016 and you're not storing your music on a smartphone?
I keep my 27,000+ songs on 2 external hard drives (one is a backup); I am not interested in paying anyone to store my music in any cloud, nor do I trust anyone to store my music in any cloud for that matter. In addition, I am also not interested in storing my 27,000_ plus songs on my phone (not enough gigs, etc.) and/or streaming music from a cloud, pandora, what have you, which uses data. I would rather use my phone gigs for photos, videos and apps. So I just put my songs on some flash drives and shuffle; I also use an ipod. Sound is always great (I mean, for a compressed digital file) and it's free. If the car that I am interested in does not immediately play stored music from a variety of devices, and display the song/artist graphics, it's a no-go.
Not to mention that the sound quality from streaming is bad-to-worse.
Yeah that was one thing I loved about my GTI and the aftermarket unit in wife's RAV4. Can play music off of a SD card that you insert. So there's nothing protruding like a flash drive and not taking up a USB port so you can use that for other purposes.
I'm still waiting for my sat radio "trial" to expire...almost one full year in. Apparently if you don't drive the car at the time that they send the kill signal it just stays on. That's one thing keeping me from putting in an aftermarket unit heh.
