My next car is going to be a Kia Soul. That's my vote.

Yea, I watched that video last week actually. It is a bit disturbing, but it's also a golf r, a high performance hatch. I wouldn't be picking up something like that. I wonder how many consistent issues there have been with the 1.8t which is in most of their newer vehicles (passat, jetta, golf, etc).

Riiiight, because no new non-German cars have any issues whatsoever. Never. Dumb comment is dumb.

that is right, it is very rare for new Japanese cars to have these kinds of serious issues. You are the one with the dumb comment, not me

Not so true anymore. If you're talking initial quality Honda, Acura, Subaru, and Scion have fallen well below the industry average. Volkswagen is just above average and Kia is #1.

Have you looked at reliability reports, like, ever? (Thank you, notnamed, for saving me from searching for links.)

I don't need to. I see brand new German cars broken down all the time and their owners complaining of all sorts of issues with their newly acquired vehicle. I rarely see Japanese cars in the same state. Real life proof is all I need.

OK. Your first-hand experience is clearly so much more representative of the market at large. I stand by my earlier assessment of your comment.
