I saw a Rhode Island State Trooper yesterday as well on Interstate 95 in Connecticut. He was driving a Ford Crown Vic. I wonder if we saw the same car?

No, this was an SUV. But that's interesting. How far from Rhode Island? Going south? it's entirely possible they were going to the same destination, whatever that was.

It was in Groton (10-20 miles from border) going northbound towards the Rhode Island border. Unless there was an event going on, I doubt these 2 trooper sightings were related.
There's a lot of New England State Police events where the MA, CT, RI, NH, and VT state police meet up to talk about local issues. It's not uncommon to spot MA State Troopers in the Hartford area since the MA governor comes down often to our convention center during certain times of the year. You could speed by them at 90mph and they can't pull you over since they're out of jurisdiction .
Once, I was W-bound on I-64, heading to I-95 N. As I got on I-95 east of Richmond, I got in the left lane behind a Sheriff Dept. car from some county in Pennsylvania. I followed him through Northern Virginia at 90 mph, with cars quickly getting out of his way, until we hit the DC Beltway and we went in opposite directions. Nice ride.
They have exits on Rt 80 in Wyoming that say "Ranch Exit".
NJ is the most densely populated state in the country.
To the OP, like someone else said, maybe for prisoner transport. or for training purposes.
Does not necessarily mean it is an exit for a specific ranch. However in CO, just east of Glenwood Springs there is a single road that goes into a rest area with a spur off that to Bair Ranch exit, and it is named Bair Ranch Road.

That's corruption at its finest. Any person would be pulled over at that speed. I've seen cops speed by other cops doing speeding enforcement in the median doing 85-90, and saw the cop wave.

I've actually seen a cop pulled over by another cop.
You don't screw with state troopers in SC. They will pull anyone and everyone over.

There was a K9 certification and competition event this weekend in Andover, CT. Lots of out of state officers visiting.
