But even so, silver and gold/“champagne”/metallic beige would have to be #1.

The word “popular” may have a few meanings but “localized attention” isn’t one of them.

I agree with many of you on the color of your state's cars. Although in California it does say gray. We have a charcoal gray van, a metallic gray Honda Accord. Our son's Honda Civic is Silver. The people across the street from us have either Silver or shades of gray cars, along with one white car. I do see more silver and white cars here in California then anything else.

Gray aka sliver seems to be the most common. Then black. White is common, but not super popular (Hooray!). We have quite a few car with color too. Among the colors, it is a toss up between red, blue, green as afar as I can tell. Yellow and orange probably next, then purple and brown.

the variations of gray are many so maybe it would be different if you broke them down by each variation (taupe, silver, charcoal, gray, etc).

I rarely see beige, I don't believe their research is valid.
This is probably due to the high number of elderly retirees in the state.

Realize that for the most part White and Black were not part of the choices unless those two colors were chosen ahead of the National Average, as the two most popular car colors are white and black.

Lol apparently orange colored cars are extremely popular in Indiana. I hardly ever see any orange cars on the road, at least in Northwest Indiana.

Funny because that is one color, along with pink, that I can not stand on a car. Then again I am not a big fan of the color orange.

The Toyota 86 comes in orange also as does the Prius C.
The Wrangler also had an orange fairly recently as did Toyota with their TDR Pro edition 4Runner would be very surprised if there aren't some muscle cars that come in orange too.

Most commonly seems to be seen on the Crosstrek tho, I agree. Personally I think it can be a great color on the right vehicle.
