I wouldn't choose CPO over your current vehicle. You've had your car since it was new. You know how reliable it's been. Why would you give that up for something you know nothing about? Unless of course it's been not so reliable.
I think your 3 options should be: buyout, lease or buy new.
So you need to decide for yourself if you want to lease or buy. We can't help you there.
We bought out our lease but ONLY because they no longer make the car. We would have leased a newer one if we could've. My wife loves her car (Volvo C70). It does suck though as we've been paying on it for almost 7 years now. That's a bit of a drag. But on the plus side, our car payments were not as high as they would've had we bought new.

Sound and Common Sense advise
My lease on a '16 ATS-V will terminate in 04/19 the model is discontinued and
I'll avoid the hit, it's nice to have options rater then obligations
I mean I'll have money to put down in March. Trying to decide if worth putting 2 grand down for a lease. Buying is not financially feasible with a new vehicle. Leasing again am concerned starting school up again and will be traveling 300 to 360 a week in miles for next year or 2.
Did find a 4 yr lease with 2.25% on it and if my car is valued at $12K could save about $500 a year in regards to car payments.
Unless tomorrow the dealer says will forgive x amount of miles or all the over mileage or roll it over and use your lease as a down payment towards buying a car
However, finance wise think buying by car out would be the best option especially since plan for next 3 yrs to put 60 thousand miles on it.
So my 2016 Rav 4 Lease ends in March. Going to have it appraised Thursday.
Going to go over some options regarding cost to buy out the car, buying new car, buying a pre-owned, or a new lease.
I am leaning more to buying my lease out has 52,000 miles on it or buying a certified pre-owned, a 2017, with 20,000 less miles on it for 18,000.
Thoughts & Feedback much appreciated!
If you like your car and it ran well buy and keep it. You know all the history on that car. It would be foolish to buy a different car. I bet you can get the dealer to sell you a CPO TOYOTA warranty

You balloon payment has already been decided before you signed your lease. Your independent appraisal means nothing.
Depends on how you treated your car during your lease, do you want to keep it since you know its history, or were you treating it like you were planning on getting rid of it in 3 years?
