Adventure trim for $39,634???

He did get one thing right. “People drawn to Adventure or Limited models may still feel that $34,000-to-$40,000 is a lot of money for a compact, non-luxury SUV, no matter how lavishly equipped. And they’d be right.“

In certain parts of the country, you can get a brand new Mitsubishi Outlander GT, $25k. V6, awd, 3 row, leather, led headlights, made in Japan. Getting the Rav4 would be very stupid.

I just posted that because reviews are nothing more than opinions of people. Most car reviews blast the previous model of the RAV4 but it was the best selling vehicle behind the big trucks last year despite it being a 5 year old model. Many people in here blast Consumer Reports as well as other car magazines since they are nothing more than opinions and that is all they are. The consumer is what matters. Most people ae not going to care what any magazine says about the car they wish to purchase.

The reviews by CR staff are nothing but opinions, but the reliability scores are from data obtained from actual owners. The only part of CR I ever really found useful was the annual buying guide.

Even with lower overall score, highest price, and lower reliability, people still think it is the best compact SUV.

Because it's sporty! Look at how active the models are that're featured with the vehicle's marketing! They're hip, young, beautiful! If you buy a new RAV4 you'll not only impress your friends with your active lifestyle™ but everyone will know you have adventure in your spirit when you're behind the wheel of the all new RAV4.

Without knowing which model they tested, prices mean nothing. Each model can easily top 35K.

I agree wholeheartedly. I once bought an item that was their top choice. Turned out it was a piece of junk. Now I just look at reviews by people who buy the items and go by that not staff reviews.

Reliability on the RAV4 is identical to the Honda CRV and Subaru Forester, but below the Mazda CX-5.
