For me - about 80k. That expectation would not include failure of either major component but rather replacement of some electronic controls, gaskets, hoses, etc.

No telling. I’m not naive enough to think engineers don’t get overruled by accountants and CAFE geeks.

Even with owners following given guidelines, GM 5.3s still eat lifters as do Hemis running 5-20 oil. Next oil change is going to 5w-30. My F150 (4.2 v6) has 5w-20 on the cap and it’s usually run 10-30 or 10-40 oil for the balance of 273,000 miles. If I said that in an F150 forum, there would be a lot of soiled draws from the zombies in there!
