The Toyota dealer near me puts their decals on the paint and the back window, in addition to the plate surround. I see a lot of them around here driving around with all three ads still on there, even after a couple of years.
$799 dealer doc fee?!!! Are they nuts? Between that and $30,000 fines for letting the grass grow a little too long I'm glad my wife refused to retire to FL.

It’s in Alabama, but yeah Florida is the same as well. Doc fees are high here.
[quote=getatag;55703784]I have two cars right now that had dealer plate frames on them when I bought them. I was going to replace them, but couldn't find as nice or well built frame at any of the discount stores. I took the frames off, sanded off the dealer name, sprayed the frame a matching color and re-installed them.

That's a quite a bit of work, the last 6 or so plate frames purchased I found on Amazon. Huge selection and convenient shipping.

Yeah, a bit of work. BUT, I'm retired I need something to keep me busy....
Actually only about 5 minutes not counting the paint drying time.
I immediately take them off. I also remove the dealer decals which can be difficult sometimes, but I find letting it get good and hot in the sun helps to loosen the adhesive.
A part of the deal when I buy the vehicle is that the dealer removes all advertising decals and license plate frame before I take delivery. I don't want any of that stuff on my vehicle. They do it, but the last salesman I had acted like he was offended that I didn't want it on there.
I've always taken them off, until my current daily driver. I leave them on because 1) I like to go there for free car washes and 2) I like the deal I was able to negotiate.
Even if the first sales manager I interacted with was an ******* and there were errors in the paperwork that had to be corrected before signing—I scored an awesome deal, and that's cool.
