I like big-body, ''G-ride'' kinda cars. I also commute long distances daily. So it's pretty simple for me:
V6
Air conditioning (Eastern half of Texas 99% of the time)
Window tint
Power windows
6 or 8 way power seat
Comfortable, cloth seats
When you set the cruise control to 90, it can ride smoothly and handle well
Gets 24 mpg while cruising at 90
That's really about it. With a couple weekends and some extra $$$ I can customize the stereo myself (Pioneer driven Polks & Infinitys) and slap in a Valentine One.

I don't know about folks here but I will NEVER buy another car without heated mirrors. Once you've lived with them, you'll wonder how you ever got by without.
I have to have:
- Cruise control
- Power locks, windows, mirrors, brakes and steering. Power seats I can do without.
- A decent stereo with good FM reception and a 6 CD changer.
- Around 18/19 mpg city is fine. I'd like no less than 23 mpg highway.
Count me out on rain-sensing or speed sensitive intermittent wipers. My Santa Fe has the latter and I absolutely HATE them because above 40 mph, it either wants to run them on low speed continuous or reduce me to 3 intermittent choices where the rotary wheel has 5. I'm still trying to determine which wires I need to cut in order to disable that useless feature.
Of all the items listed, I would have to say that the "Entertainment Center and MP3/iPod connectios", are items that should never be in vehicles today. Kids are getting to much stimulation as it is and things like that are just another way for them to seperate mentally from the family. Besides, its just another thing to go wrong and you waste your money on it.
* Power windows - Never drove a car without them, would hate to have to go around the car rolling all the windows up when somebody forgets.
Never? You must be really young.
Where I live you're either almost always using the a/c or the heater, so the windows seldom get let down anyways. The only time mine gets used is at the drive-thu window.
I can't remember if it was on the list, but tilt steering is a must for me. I owned a couple of "plain jane" cars without tilt and I hated them.
Our kids are not getting any dvd/game ports or anything. Read a book, play a game, or look out the d*mn window and use your imagination, for the love of god.

Wow, that must be awful. I try to keep mine up to save gas, though I love lowering mine when I'm not going as fast in the summer and letting in a nice fresh breeze. The only time I find it necessary to put A/C on is when it's above 80° - 85°.
