I bet you play the game, and straight answers are not often forthcoming. This is not a put down, but the reality of the business, and what the dealership expects you to do.

That is one reason why the last vehicles we have purchased come from a no haggle, price is clearly marked dealership. When he went to this style of marketing 9 years ago, all the other dealers said it was the end of him. Well he is still there, and I see a whole lot of new Toyotas with his dealership name on the back.

Oh yes, and I did price comparisons, and several dealership would meet or better his price AFTER I told them what I was paying, but never before.

Cash in hand? Wow, they know you want to buy something in a bad way. Showing them your back as you head for the exit is much more effective

Care to explain your reasoning behind that one? It must be good, because I don't get your leap of logic there.

Or are you just going to be a typical internet coward who hides in anonymity?

Actually, the people who come in "waving cash" are the people most experienced salesmen steer well away from.

First thyere is no way they can give you retail for a trdein. If that is what you want;simply sell the vehcile yourself. Its really wasy with so many buyig used now if you vehiecle is in good sahpe and especailly if a honda or totyta .Then look up the invoice and decide before waht you want and the price your going to pay. Its easy to just leave if they don;t want to get very close. Never but never buy a vehicle when youy have to and don't get the wants. It baragining ;don't spend hours at the dealership either it does take that long to come to a deal if they want to saole the vehicle.

You must be a car salesman yourself with such a rotten attitude. No wonder you have very few friends!

Yes, in fact I do know the market better than they do. I was able to sell the car today for a lot more That dealer lost out on some hefty profits HAHAHAHA!!! They were dumb to lowball me.

Get real already. I'm , and a lot of other people, are NOT interested in any sort of a "deal". All we want to do is buy another car not play any stupid horse trading games.

The car dealers I shop at know that I'm dead serious when I make the one ,and only, counter offer when they tell me their cash price. Add to that I never, ever, get myself in the position that I "have" to buy a car so I always have time to shop around. That and I always sell ,or give away to a needy person, my old car. Trade in's are a lost cause if you do the math.

Do I walk in with a roll of bills that would choke a horse in plain view...hell no! I'm not that crazy but I make it plain that the money is "in hand" if I need it then and there.

Yes, they do. These people are savvy enough not to play the salesman's game is the real reason the don't like cash buyers.
