Pontiac G8/chevy caprice. I know there is a police version but I want a nice new one. 4 door, healthy v8, 6-speed, simple yet modern.

Something closer to the vauxhall version.

I mentioned it waaay back in this thread, but I'll say it again. I want a new CRX Si. It's nearly impossible to find an original that hasn't been molested into oblivion, and the CRZ doesn't cut it. It's awkward looking on the outside, and the interior looks ridiculous. I appreciate the attempt to make a hybrid that's fun to drive, but the fuel economy isn't really any better than my old 89 CRX Si, and it's considerably more complex and about a quarter ton heavier. How about a tasteful, well-proportioned exterior, an understated but ingenious interior, and a simple, peppy engine with a manual transmission? Come on Honda, what happened to you?

Simple and inexpensive with YOUR choice of what options you want. Not going to happen though.

I wish they'd bring back the old Toyota Rav4 and the older Tracker/Vitara. Make them the EV or put a 400-500hp engine in them if people hate EVs.

Absolutely. I'm perfectly happy with simple, analog gauges and a very basic stereo. Basic climate controls, manual windows and door locks, etc. In a small, light car I don't even care if it has power steering or not. In fact, the fact that my old Si didn't have power steering was a plus in my book. It was such a simple car, yet it was by far the most fun I've ever had driving. And yet it was still practical and versatile. But you're right, it simply won't happen these days. At least not with a large automaker.

That was a cool target vehicle. Wonder if they will do a Dodger Journey equivalent. Good size, and some luxury would be nice.
