Courts have long held you have no expectation of privacy while in public, or your yard, including your back yard. Police have used aircraft for years. This is nothing different, just new technology.

Simple as that.

Should helicopter be more acceptable than a drone, or is helicopter also unfair against criminals?

I was about to say "How different is that from the police in a Helicopter flying over your house"

Hey, there is no privacy when seen from the sky. If its out in the open, its free to be seen.

Don't want anyone to see, put it under cover.

You don't need a warrant to fly over someone's house.

I wouldn't fault cops for trying to stay living so they can go back to their families after people threaten them with guns.
How many cops lives were saved with the aid of a helicopter?

I guess this privacy drone issue is being used to take the attention away from the real privacy stealer, that smartphone snooping app from Carrier IQ that the FBI is using...

Like the magicians do....

Now watcha this hand.....

Kyllo v. United States - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Thermal imaging of a home constitutes a Fourth Amendment "search" and may be done only with a warrant.
LOL...yes because the police would never break the law.

Except drones have the ability to 'see' into a building, the very same drones being used in this case...

But I am sure the fedgov. would NEVER use that technology against Americans.

I hate to break it to you but police helicopters have this thing called FLIR and some other technology that can also "see" into buildings.

They could break the law, but the evidence wouldn't be admissible in court, neither would any evidence later gained from that "poisonous tree."
