It's just the parking that sucks ... especially around Adams Morgan. Since DC nights were usually late for us, we didn't take the Metro. Parking around U Street is only slightly better than Adams Morgan if you don't mind walking a few blocks.

Man, that is fine!! If it's not your cup of tea, I can respect that. I don't mind the buppie, bipsters and other assorted cast of characters on this planet. As for me, I enjoy books, book discussions, political discussions, lectures and other cultural/intellectual offerings. That is just me! Not judging against anyone or anything. I enjoy what I enjoy and hope people find things they enjoy as well!

Didn't said it wasn't my cup of tea. Me and my friends would probably be labeled as blispters, naturalistas, and/or buppies, so I know the kind of subculture crowd I like to hangout with. That's why I love checking out neighborhoods in other cities who have those similar types of characters Probably explains why I constantly obsess over neighborhoods like Shaw, U Street, LeDroit Park, Takoma, Historic Anacostia, Park View, Petworth, Eckington, Adams Morgan, etc. in DC and Brooklyn, New York were those subcultures are heavily noticeable.

Are there any neighborhoods in Baltimore with the aforementioned subcultures that are common in other cities such as DC, New York, ATL, Oakland, LA, etc.? I may be transferring to Morgan State soon, would like to find a few neighborhoods up there to hangout in on a routine basis.

"Black" DC is not what it used to be, but it still is a lot better than what Baltimore has to offer on any day of the weak.
