They take attendance. You can also get a slip to show your work if necessary.

That's exactly what they do. The clerk calls out each juror number, and the juror whose number has been called stands up.

They get their pool from both MVA and voter registration, so opting out of one still leaves you in the other. Don't vote, don't drive. Remember too, not all the residents (700,000 ) are eligible to serve on a jury, and with the population shrinking more, those that qualify get called more often.

If you get to the voir dire portion, and don't want to be selected, it's relatively easy to get out. You will be recycled back to the main pool to be sorted again though. LEO's and a victims of a violent crime will almost never serve on a jury.

how do i get on the voir dire portion? Do I sag my pants in the courts? If that's the case then wouldn't the entire population of Baltimore not be selected? Do I grow a beard? Would my listed profession on the questionnaire be the determining factor if I will be chosen? If I listed burger flipper would they forget about me?

I'm truly beginning to have my doubts about this Poster's entire screed.
Just go to jury duty when you are called. You'll find out what happens. Most of us have done this countless times. Stop trying to find a way to get over on the system. Judges and jury commissioners don't like that. They can (and will) throw people into jail for contempt when they are flippant or outrageous in the courtroom. Jury service is your right and duty as a citizen, so just go and experience it.

I think you may be right. If they're having this much difficulty with the process, how do they ever decide which side of the bed to get up on. Anyway OP, shouldn't you have already done your duty by now? How was it?

Can I wear a hat or beanie? It didn't list it as "not to wear" so I am assuming they are ok. Do I bring an ID to the court as well as the summons? Do I have to pay a fee or just the parking fee?

If you have all the answers going-in, how fun can it be?

A hat is not necessary, but a beanie would be great!! Make sure the beanie is a couple of different colors and keep the propeller on top spinning around. A t-shirt with a large cannabis plant on the front in full color would be a nice touch. Wear this outfit and you surely will get picked.

I do not want to get picked at all. Do jurors even get paid for this? I read there is a discount for parking for jurors who are on jury duty for months. Really? Months?
